The NU Writing Program is an award-winning programthat serves first-year and upper-level students. The program, whichincludes more than 75 full-time, part-time, and graduate studentteachers, offers community-based teaching opportunities as well asa number of professional development activities. Assistant orAssociate Teaching Professors teach first-year and advanced writingcourses, including courses in writing for the social sciences, thesciences, the health professions, the engineering and computerscience professions, and the business profession. TeachingProfessors are eligible for promotion and hold leadership positionsat all levels of faculty governance. Applications received by April30 can be assured the fullest review.Responsibilities:Full-time teaching load is three courses per semester. In additionto teaching, Teaching Professors are expected to serve on variousdepartment, college, and university committees and to pursueprofessional development opportunities.
