Lauren Jenkins is collaborating with Destination Country once again as she returns for a second live show.The first artist to do a second show with the UK Country music media collective, Lauren helped Destination Country launch back in February. Fans can see Lauren performing as part of the DC Sessions on StageIt at 9pm BST on Thursday 11th June 2020.She will be showcasing new songs and it will be the first opportunity for her fans to hear what she’s been working on since the release of her debut album No Saint. Thirteen out of the twenty eight will be selected for the team to represent Dominica at the tournament in St. Vincent Sports Coordinator in the Ministry of Youth Sports, Culture and Constituency Empowerment, Trevor Shillingford stated during an interview with Dominica Vibes on Thursday 26 October 2017. Shillingford said the team which already began training will represent Dominica despite challenges posed by Hurricane Maria. The tournament originally carded for April 2017, some changes were made pushing it to December. “We put things in motion to have a group of young cricketers selected to prepare for this country but the passage of Hurricane Maria hindered our plans and we had to put our plans somewhere on the back burner,” he stated.Preparations have resumed he added now that the country is on the road to recovery. “Since we are now realizing some form of recovery with schools back in session, we have decided to move ahead with the training sessions in preparation for the tournament. We have selected twenty eight cricketers, and they were selected from our secondary schools Under-15 Championship which was held in the final term of the last academic year and also players who participated in our summer cricket program,” he explained.Shillingford added that sessions will session will be held three times a week at the Benjamin’s Park, which is the only facility suitable for training after the passage of the hurricane. “The intention is to have the training commence on Saturday, October 28th, and we will start off with a few practice matches and then continue with training sessions three days a weeks, two afternoons during the week and on Saturday at the Benjamin’s park which is the only facility that is available for such programs since the passage of the hurricane,” he said. 59 Views no discussions LocalNewsSports U15 Cricketers training for Windward Tournament by: Dominica Vibes News – October 27, 2017
